Family Lake Weekend 2013

This year's family reunion was one of the best yet. It was just a calm and relaxing time of all being together. The ONLY bad thing was that we were short a few people who weren't able to make it. :( It rained all day Friday which is usually a bad thing but it allowed us to pretty much all stay inside together for the day and just play games, eat, relax and be lazy. Good times!! The weather was great on the other days so we enjoyed the usual swimming and boating and the guys got to golf as well. In the evenings after the kids were in bed, us adults enjoyed wine and games, the feature game this year being Taboo. We had a blast even though the guys beat the girls most games! For a long weekend, it sure flew by fast! I am so thankful for my big family!
Graham coaxed Collin and Cody into playing Uno with him

We girls talked baby names quite a bit!

Graham is quite the gamer! Here he and Grandad are playing Guess Who

Brooklyn wanted to swim in the rain...so she did! And several others joined in!

Mumo and Papo brought a memory box full of pictures, letters, etc.

Time to hit the lake!

Graham is an old pro. He kept wanting to go faster and faster!

We gave Mumo a memory book that Nancy put together, full of pictures from the anniversary party earlier in the summer. It was full of quotes from the speeches made by friends and family as well. Beautiful book!

And here is Graham playing another game...this time he is playing Sorry! by himself. :)

Reid is 9 Months!

What a fun age! Reid is growing so much and is becoming more and more playful. He is so energetic and happy and loves to be with people and be engaged. He continues to be a pretty easy-going guy overall and adds so much sweetness to our family. Some milestones from this month:
- He has three more teeth, making the total count six!
- He weighs 23 pounds and wears 12-18 month clothes.
- He LOVES swimming! As long as the pool is heated, he is all smiles and giggles in the water. :)
- He is saying Bubba and Dada on a regular basis to the boys and Randy. Still working on Mama!
- He is eating mostly finger foods. He loves puffs! He really likes turkey, chicken and yogurt. He tolerates strawberries, bananas, rice, beans, watermelon, carrots and a few other things.
- He loves rolling the ball to me and gets so excited anytime he sees his ball. It is so fun to see him interact and get so much joy out of such a simple little game!
- He likes to be sung to. His latest favorite song is "Where is thumbkin?" He also likes "Wheels on the Bus."
- He LOVES to swing!!! Jack likes to push him really high which makes me nervous but Reid just laughs and laughs.
- He is starting to get a tiny bit clingy to me. Sometimes he will fuss when I leave the room and he has cried a couple of times lately when I dropped him off at the nursery at church. That is unusual for him so I'm hoping it's a quick phase!
- He spent the night away from us for the first time! He stayed at BB and Grandad's and did great!
- He got hand foot and mouth disease this month. It was awful but the sweet guy handled it well overall. We had one really bad night.
- He can crawl amazingly fast now and he is walking really well along the furniture. He didn't walk at 8 months like G but I think he will be walking fairly soon, maybe next month?

Love our Sweetie Reidy!!

4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th! Although Reid had been very ill the past week, he was feeling better just in time. We are so glad he is himself again and that everyone was able to enjoy the holiday. We started our celebration on the 3rd with our second annual night before the 4th fireworks show in Yukon with the Robertis! This year we brought the Plangmans along with us which made for quite a crew of kids! We left Reid at my parents' house so there were 8 kids this year, including Ingrid's nephew who is visiting from Mexico. They all had a blast blowing bubbles, playing ladders, running up the big hill, playing with glow necklaces, eating snacks, etc. while waiting for the big show at 10pm. Graham was pretty amazed by the fireworks, I couldn't tell that he remembered them from last year. Jack, the chatterbox, talked the entire time explaining to us how fireworks work, etc. He is such a know it all but in a cute way! Unfortunately, Reid was not sleeping well at my parents' so afterward, we had to run by and pick him up. However, he fell asleep in the car and so did the big boys. It was quite a sight! We carried all three in to bed at midnight and they slept in their clothes. :)

Then today we spent the day with family swimming and eating! Papo made his famous homemade ice cream which was a huge hit with the boys. After last night, they all crashed right at bedtime tonight so hopefully we can recover from the excitement by tomorrow!
