OU/Texas

Well, this OU/Texas game day was a bit different from most. We spent the day at home snuggling our sweet little Reid and watched the game on TV as a family of five! I am so in love with my boys!

Sooner Born and Sooner Bred

Saturday was a big day. A day that Randy and I have been anticipating since we found out we were pregnant with Jack back in May of 2006. His first OU football game! Yes, perhaps we are slightly insane but OU is so special to both of us and we were just so thrilled to be able to share that with our son. Jack has been "Sooner bred" for awhile now so he was already familiar with the fight song, the chants, the alma mater, the name of our coach and QB, etc. But we didn't feel he was old enough to actually enjoy a game until this year. I'm glad we waited and to be honest, we probably should have waited one more year. He did so well and enjoyed much about the experience (peanuts, popcorn, sprite, more sprite...), but it was a little too long to hold his attention. Luckily, we were using my parents' seats so we were able to go inside and take a break as needed. We actually had six tickets so we were lucky enough to have some good friends join us. They moved here fairly recently from Nebraska and were missing their team so they appreciated the opportunity to go to a good college game. Their son is Jack's age and he did great and had fun as well!! All in all, it was a great day. Randy really wanted to walk around campus and point out certain buildings to Jack and we did get to do that. It was a beautiful day. Afterward we asked Jack what his favorite thing was and he replied, "the fireworks after the touchdowns!" When asked what his least favorite thing was, he said, "it was long." Ha! Well, I'm sure he will enjoy many more games in the future and eventually he won't mind that they're long!

Sooner Saturday

Before the game, the boys were up early to go to the farmer's market with Daddy:

Then we spent some time playing at home:

And Uncle Kenny stopped by on his way to Norman!

Sooner Bred and Sooner Born

This past weekend, Hayley and Nick came to visit from Texas. They recently moved to the Dallas area from Tampa and were staying in a business hotel while deciding on permanent living arrangements. Well, apparently the hotel was horrendous and unbearable, so Hayley decided to come spend an entire week here in order to avoid going back to it! Nick is going to be out of town for work until they move into their apartment next week. It's been great having Aunt Hayley around for a change!

The four of us made the trip to Norman on Saturday to watch OU play Tulsa. Randy and I hardly ever get to go to the games anymore since all of Jack's baby-sitters (uncles, aunts, grandparents, and great-grandparents) tend to be at the games themselves! But this week, my sweet dad offered to stay home with Jack. We had a blast being in Norman again and baby Biggs seemed to enjoy it as well! He/she can be Sooner bred even before he/she's Sooner born, right?!

OU Football

For the first two OU games of the season, Randy and I have taken Jack to watch the game with our good friends, Rich and Holly, and their little girl, Peyton. Jack just loves spending time with Peyton! Although she doesn't quite seem to know what to think of him (she just laughs at him), he says that he loves her. Ah, young love!

Daddy and Jack- OU Alma Mater

Here is a video of Randy trying to get Jack to sing the OU Alma Mater. Sometimes he can do it, but sometimes he gets so confused he just sings the same line over and over! Either way, it's always sweet. He's definitely Sooner born and Sooner bred!

National Championship OU vs. Florida

Here are some pics from the night of the game. Bad game, but cute kiddo!

And here are a couple cute videos of Jack dancing in preparation for the game:

Thanksgiving and Football and Stuff

We've had a great couple of weeks! Last weekend, Jack got to spend the night at Granny B. and Grandpa's for the first time! He had a blast, was a great little boy, and even renamed them Gigi and Papa! What a cutie. Funny how he just decided what to call all of his grandparents.

While Jack was living it up in Tulsa, Randy and I went to the OU/Texas Tech game with my parents and oh what a game that was! Possibly the most fun game I've ever been to, save the 2000 national championship in Miami. The team was pumped and so were the fans. What a great night!

On Thanksgiving day we headed to Nancy and Randy's house and ranch in Wetumpka. It was so much fun to hang out with family and Jack just loved seeing all the animals. He even got to see the little calves drink their bottles! We wanted to get him on a horse but didn't end up having time, due to Jack's long nap. We'll have to do that next time!

We spent all day yesterday putting up the Christmas decorations. Jack is in awe of it all. It's so much fun to see him experience the Christmas season. I hope we can teach him a little about the "reason for the season" as well. We even put up outside lights for the first time this year (actually we're not finished) and that is quite an experience! Randy decided that he has a fear of heights so there I was on the top of the ladder risking my life for icicle lights! Hope they turn out cute.

And to top off the long weekend, we spent Saturday evening watching OU beat up on OSU and Sunday waiting for the BCS results (after church of course). We're so excited that everything worked out for our Sooners! Can't wait for another shot at a national title!

Baby Sooner

Well, Jack watched his first OU football game on Saturday. He was so excited and decked out in his favorite Sooner wear, complete with an OU rattle. He really did cheer hard! Here are some pics.
