After a rough couple of weeks, I think my boys are finally on the mend! After Jack had finished his antibiotic, I noticed that he was still pretty congested, was coughing frequently, and seemed pretty out of sorts still. Even though Graham was only on day 5 or so of his medicine, I was also concerned that he didn't seem to be improving much. His cough was as bad as ever and his breathing was terrible!
So on Tuesday, we headed back to the doctor. It turns out that Jack's ear infection had returned and Graham now had another infection in the other ear! All of this WHILE on antibiotics! Dr. Albiek seemed very concerned with how bad Graham's ear looked for his age and also the fact that he didn't seem to respond to the antibiotics. He recommended a more aggressive medicine for both boys and thankfully they have both done a quick turn around!
Graham will get rechecked on Wednesday to confirm that his ears are clear, but judging from his improved breathing and the cessation of his cough, I really think he's well. I am concerned however, that he came down with these bad infections to begin with. I hope it's not a sign of things to come.
Throughout the whole thing, Graham remained a calm, happy little guy! He's too sweet for his own good- makes it hard for Mommy to know when something is wrong!

Birthday Party #2
We celebrated Jack's birthday AGAIN on Sunday by having a party at Oklahoma Gold Gymnastics. Jack had attended a birthday party there before and had a blast, so we knew it would be a hit for his own party. Because his friend Max's birthday is so close to his (February 25), we decided to make it a joint party! Jack picked the theme for the cups, plates, and table cloth- firetrucks. Max picked the theme for the cake- Diego the surfer. So it was a Diego/Fire Truck party! They invited all their little friends and the kids had so much fun bouncing on the trampolines, riding the zip-line, swinging on the swing, and jumping into the pit! Our party host, Hilary, did an excellent job keeping up with the kiddos, even helping them do flips on the trampoline. It was a complete success!

Birthday Party #1
We celebrated Jack's birthday with family on Superbowl Sunday. Jack enjoyed spending time with everyone, watching the "football guys," eating his favorite food (Poblano Grill), opening presents, and of course eating cake!
*Side note- Jack's favorite part of watching a football game is to make fun of BB and how she cheers on the team. He'll scream a high pitched, AAAAH, anytime something exciting happens and then say he's screaming like BB. Hopefully, we can teach him some more manly cheering as he gets older.*
Anyway, he got lots of new cars and trucks plus accessories for the cars and trucks, so he was a happy camper. Graham enjoyed being at BB and Grandad's house for the first time, too!

The Boys
I think I'm starting to get used to the idea that I have two children! Today was the first time I had to get out with both kiddos by myself at a set time. It went really well! Graham and I dropped Jack off at music school and then headed to my post-partum checkup with Dr. Shanbour. We even managed to hit the grocery store before coming home in time for BB to bring Jack home. I keep telling people that newborns are easy, it's the three year old that provides the real challenge! Having said that, the fact that Jack is so grown up has made the transition from one kid to two fairly seamless. He is able to get himself dressed (for the most part), brush his own teeth (although I prefer to help), go to the bathroom alone (although it makes a mess), and even grab his own snack from the pantry (although it makes a mess)! So when I am occupied with feeding, changing, or rocking Graham, Jack is able to take care of himself without completely destroying anything. I can't imagine that being the case even six months ago so I think three years is a good amount for sibling spacing!
Just as we were starting to get into a nice routine with Graham, he came down with an ear infection! I have to say that I didn't even know babies could get ear infections that young. It started with some congestion, sleepiness, and a cough which ended up in a lost voice! I've never heard a more pitiful little cry- he sounded like a little kitten! Luckily, the antibiotics seem to have kicked in quickly and my boy has his voice back and some new energy! Also, this "little" guy is big! He has gained 2oz. a day since he was six days old, making him almost 11 pounds now!
Jack is getting over and ear infection as well (how do you think Graham got sick?!) but luckily he handles those fairly well as long as we keep on top of the Tylenol. He wouldn't stand on the scale so I can't update you on how big he is but his three year well visit is coming up next week!
I'm looking forward to Spring so I can have some warm weather, sunshine, and healthy boys!
