What a wonderful Christmas! Although it started out a bit different than expected (waking up at my parents' house instead of at home), it was a wonderful day filled with family, food, and fun.
Randy and I are beginning to start some of our own traditions with Jack. When he woke up on Christmas morning, we went into his room, and before going out to see what Santa brought, the three of us read Jesus' birth story from the book of Luke (a bit paraphrased for Jack's understanding). Then we talked about the meaning of Christmas and the reason for the gift giving. Finally, we prayed. It was such a great way to start the day an remind ourselves what Christmas is really all about.
After that, we headed downstairs to see what Santa had brought. Jack was thrilled with everything and excited to see that the milk and cookies we left our were gone!
The rest of the day was spent with extended family, opening presents, eating, and of course playing in the snow! Jack seemed to love his first White Christmas!!
