The Lake

Recently, we took a long weekend trip to Grand Lake with my family. My dad's company owns a lake house there, so my siblings and I have been going there since we were little. Jack has been once before, but he was just 5 months old at the time, so he didn't experience the lake or the boat.

This time was a different story! Jack loved everything about the lake! He absolutely loves having family around so that was a given. He also loved his "room" which was actually a big walk in closet off of Randy and my room. We put a mattress on the floor with a gate around it to make him feel secure. He's outgrown his pack 'n play and there wasn't a free bed, so we didn't have many options! Anyway, he loved it.

He also enjoyed having big breakfasts, swimming in the pool, throwing rocks into the lake, riding in the golf cart, riding in the boat, and swimming in the lake (black water as he called it...ew). We tried to get him on the tube, but that made him a bit nervous. Maybe next time!

As far as the adults go, we enjoyed lounging around mostly. We celebrated Randy's birthday (30!) one night, played games, and watched several movies. It's always nice to get away and relax for a weekend. Can't wait to go back!
