January 10

Today is Randy and my 5th wedding anniversary. In some ways, time has just flown by since January 10, 2004, but in some ways it seems like yesterday. It seems like a big milestone, but in comparison to a lifetime, we’re still in the very beginning stages of our relationship. I love thinking about that. As much as we have already grown together, we have only just begun!

Five years ago, I was barely 23 and had just graduated from college. I didn’t have a job and neither did Randy, who was 24 and still in school. We were poor but we didn’t care! We were just so ready to be married. We had just spent the previous nine months of our engagement planning our wedding and preparing for our marriage through counseling with our pastor. It was such a fun time in our lives! The wedding turned out perfectly and the marriage gets better every day.

I am so happy to have found the love of my life, a strong Christian man who is truly selfless. Randy is the best husband and father I could have ever imagined. I consider myself truly blessed!

Here are the lyrics to a song that was sung at our wedding. It always bring back memories of that special day!

How Beautiful by: Twila Paris

How beautiful the hands that served
The wine and the bread
And the sons of the earth.
How beautiful the feet that walked
The long dusty roads
And the hills to the cross.
How beautiful
How beautiful
How beautiful is the body of Christ.

How beautiful the heart that bled
That took all my sin
And bore it instead.
How beautiful the tender eyes
That chose to forgive
And never despise.
How beautiful
How beautiful
How beautiful is the body of Christ.

And as He laid down His life
We offer this sacrifice
That we will live just as he died:
Willing to pay the price
Willing to pay the price.

How beautiful the radient Bride
Who waits for her Groom
With His light in her eyes.
How beautiful when humble hearts give
The fruit of pure lives
So that others may live.
How beautiful
How beautiful
How beautiful is the body of Christ.

How beautiful the feet that bring
The sound of good news
And the love of the King.
How beautiful the hands that serve

The wine and the bread
And the sons of the earth.
How beautiful
How beautiful
How beautiful is the body of Christ.
