The Biggs clan had a very busy and fun Memorial Day weekend this year! Nothing big, just lots of family time and lots of eating. On Monday we met Randy's brother, his girlfriend Kasey, and her daughter Haley at the zoo. It was Graham's first trip to the zoo since last year so it seemed all new to him and none of us had seen the baby elephants yet. We spent lots of time at the petting zoo and climbing and sliding in the children's area. Then we headed toward the elephants, stopping along the way to look at the lions, tortoises, peacocks, and even snakes! Jack was fascinated with the snakes. While we were watching a zoo worker was trying to move one of them so he was holding a rat as bait. This made mommy say "eek!" and Jack was a little scared too, but fascinated nonetheless. Finally we made it to the elephant pavilion. Graham loved the waterfalls more than anything. He loves water in general! But Jack and Haley were excited to see the cute baby elephant. We actually left Jack with Uncle Kenny when we headed home to put Graham down for a nap. He was having so much fun!
Afterward, we headed to my parents's house for swimming and a cook out. My dad had the heater in the pool turned to 82 just the way I like it. :) Jack is getting braver and braver each time he gets into the water. He's so independent. And now that we have the puddle jumper floaties, Graham is actually pretty independent as well! I love those things! He gets to swim on his own but his head is kept safely out of the water. This is such a lifesaver for me since G hates being in one of those boats but also hates being held!
Here are a ton of pictures:
