Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Yesterday we got to enjoy an OU baseball game in the comfort of the Midfirst Bank suite and it was such a nice treat! The boys both enjoyed their first baseball game- Jack especially liked the food (peanuts, cracker jacks, popcorn, dippin' dots, pizza, and chicken nuggets, oh my!) while Graham especially liked skipping his afternoon nap. Randy and I particularly enjoyed the free beer!

Brotherly Love

Here are my boys being goofy and loving on each other!

Jack and Daddy

Jack just adores Randy. I am so blessed to have a husband who is so focused on his children. He loves them so much and makes spending time with them a top priority. Here are some pictures from a recent Sunday afternoon:

Edmond Touch A Truck

Last weekend, the MOM's Club of Edmond hosted a fundraiser called Touch-a-Truck. It sounded like it would be right up Jack's alley so we checked it out. Wow! Not only were there trucks to touch, such as fire trucks, delivery trucks, a milk truck, etc., but there were also motorcycles, army vehicles, construction vehicles, tractors, police cars, etc. And not only did Jack get to touch them, but he was able to climb inside, honk the horns, and even "drive!" What a fun day! There is nothing better than watching your child just light up as if his dreams have come true. When asked what his favorite truck was, he answered enthusiastically and without hesitation, "SCHOOL BUS!!"

Graham at 4 Months

Our little guy is four months old already! It is flying by, as we knew it would. He weighs over 16 pounds now and is starting to show his personality more. He is still a happy, easy-going guy who loves to talk and laugh. He has started rolling over more and more, but almost every time he does it is in bed! He sleeps on his tummy and at times he'll wake up crying and I'll go in to find him on his back. The poor guy looks like a turtle on his back- doesn't know how he got that way or how to get back! It's sad, but also cute!

His favorite things are Jack, taking a bath, Jack, and Jack. Oh, and taking a bath with Jack! He just adores his big brother and it is so sweet to see. The more we get to know Graham, the more we see that he and Jack are polar opposites in almost every way. However, there is one thing they have in common. A passionate love for...the thumb!

Mother's Day

Yesterday was my first Mother's Day as a mommy of two! It was an awesome day! Randy surprised me with my favorite breakfast when I woke up (Panera), then we got ready and went to church. Jack was so well behaved. After church we headed to my parents' for lunch with the family. It was just nice to be able to relax and enjoy some family time and celebrate my mother and grandmother, who are such blessings to me. The icing on the cake was the amazing gift Randy got me- floor seats to the Carrie Underwood concert in October! I really wanted to go, but didn't get around to buying the tickets in time, so Randy found some on ebay. I'm so excited!

First Trip to the Bowling Alley

We decided to take Jack bowling on Saturday evening. He loved it! He especially liked when a nice employee had to go retrieve his ball, which after a very slow roll down the lane, changed directions and started heading back to us before finally coming to a stop!

My Boys

Graham: Graham has hit so many little milestones recently! He laughed out loud for the first time this week and still seems to only do it for Daddy. He is also more active when he has "playtime." He can now grab and hold on to his toys for as long as he wants to. He can also bring his hands together to grab a toy with two hands if you hold it in front of him. He immediately brings it to his mouth of course! And he is loving playing in the exersaucer. He can hit the buttons to make the songs play and he can spin the little "wheels." I love the 4-6 month stage when babies are still so little and snuggly, but are also so playful. He's getting there quickly!

Jack: Jack is amazing us every day with his memory! The other day I gave him a towel and told him it was a "beach" towel. He said, "Do you remember when we went to Nick and Hayley's wedding?" (Their wedding was at the beach). I couldn't believe that he remembered that and made the association. He was only 18 months old at the time!

Jack is also doing well with reading! Randy and I have been working with him on letters for awhile and he's actually started to do some real reading now. He knows all the letters, upper case and lower case, and their sounds (he loves to point out when a letter can make different sounds- "Sometimes g says ga and sometimes g says ja!") and can sound out some simple words. It's so fun to watch him learn!

Now that it's warmer outside, we've been playing lots of sports. Jack has been learning how to dribble a soccer ball, catch a baseball in a glove, and shoot a basketball. He really likes soccer the best and he is pretty good at it, too!

The music school spring show is coming up and Jack will be singing a Johnny Cash song with three other boys. They'll be dressed in all black of course. It should be cute!
