This is What it Means to be Held

I posted our big announcement here on Wednesday, that we were 7 weeks pregnant, expecting our second sweet baby. In case you are wondering why it is now gone, I removed the post yesterday after confirming with the doctor that we have had a miscarriage. Perhaps we shouldn't have made the announcement so early, but we don't regret it. We loved being able to share our joy and excitement with everyone! We are just so heartbroken that it turned to pain so quickly.

We are, of course, devastated. But we know that God has a plan for our family. This is just one more reminder that we are not in control. And although that is so hard, that is a good thing because God's plan is so much better than our own.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Thanks so much for all of your support and prayers!

Here is a song by Natalie Grant called "Held." I have always loved it but now it touches me even more. There is such truth in the song's message- God's promise was not that life would always be free from suffering. It was that "when everything fell, we'd be held."

I am so sorry to hear this news, but glad to hear that you are letting yourself be held in the right arms. It is no fun, but you are right, God has a plan and it will be for your good.
